I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this bookI am a massive fan of this author's work and I can never get enough of matter the setting or the type of creatures within it! The thing that comes across is that you can really tell that she is writing from personal experience and I could just see her and her husband as these characters climbing the mountains. I believe that that gives this book a personal touch and helps the readers visualise the setting even more by the vivid descriptions of the environment that the characters find themselves in.
I really loved the storyline I this book, two people who have never stopped loving each other, add in extreme Danger from climbing the mountain and weather conditions being dangerous enough but add in a supernatural element of an unknown being and you have an amazingly addictive read! I couldn't put this book down, I had to just keep turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next, it is extremely addictive!
I loved the characters and their obvious connection to each other, even though they no longer have a relationship you can see their heart's still belong to each other. All Tina wants is to have a normal life! To be a doctor to care for people and embrace her love for climbing mountains. She has a huge heart and comes across as extremely caring personhood will always help someone in need, even if it dangers her own life. In these ways Craig is a very similar person, his life is the mountains and he has built is life and career around this love. You can tell how experienced he is in this and is very careful and watching of his clients as he also is a very caring person who does not want anyone to be hurt.
I adore this book and although it is in a Trilogy it can be read alone but I highly recommend reading all of this authors books, they will blow you away and you will be a fan for life!!!

This is the second book in the Alphas in the Wild series. It is a fast-pace and standalone story that will keep you on the edge of your chair from beginning to end. It has twists/turns, action, adventure, mystery, secrets, humor, trust, suspense, danger, violence, obstacles, survival, romance, passion and love.
Tina McKenzie is a doctor who is very head strong and independent. This makes her think that a husband and children are not in the cards for her. Why does she think those thoughts? She pushed the love of her life away to keep him safe. Because seven years ago she had an accident on a mountain in the Andes. To survive the accident, she made a pact with a supernatural creature on that mountain. It seems that the deadline to hold up her end of the bargain is looming near but she wants to make it on her own terms.
Craig owns a mountain guide service which takes up all of his time. He never understood why the love of his life pushed him away. He is taking an expedition to the Andes mountains and needs a doctor to come along. So, Tina signed up to join this climbing trip to the Andes. Phenomenal! I love reading Alphas in the Wild series. Both books of this series is awesome. Each book is well written and the storyline is full of twists and turns. The characters are well developed and it will capture your interest from the beginning to the end of each of these stories . The emotional and sexual scenes leaps from the pages and keeps you reading long after you should have close the book! You will be hooked from the first word to the last, you will find yourself cheering for them one moment and wanting to smack them along the back of the head the next. The couple will go though some strange things and each has a decisions to make and they don't just involve them being together. The storyline is about Dr.Tina McKenzie, she is head strong and independent which makes her think that having a husband and kids wasn't in the cards for her. Because seven years before she had a accident on the mountain and she was saved by a the mountain spirit. Craig and Tina was in love while in college and they both loved mountain climbing but one day Tina broke up with him. Craig never loved anyone like he loved Tina. Ann Gimpel never fails to amaze me with the depth of her stories and she always make her characters so realistic, yet compelling. Fantastic! I love how Ann uses her imagination. So much happens in the world that she weaves from page to page. There is action,passion, adventure and suspense. Of course this is a amazing series and the characters are so life like they make the story so real. There is beguiling Gods and spirits. But the passion between the main characters sets the pages on fire because the chemistry is scorching hot. If you love to be a romantic then you will not be disappointed! All I can say is that this story is fast paced, well written and you won't be able to put it down.
I'd recommend this series to anyone who likes a strong and likable heroine, an irresistible alpha male and a story full of twists, turns, romance and love. I can't hardly wait to read the next book! This is a SPECTACULAR Read! This story will make you smile and give you lots of romance. If you love witches, wolves, gods and dragons then this romance is definitely a fabulous choice for your TBR list. I am hoping there will be a lot more exciting stories. I highly recommend this book!
